Hope Your Party Is As Bitchin’ As Ours

December 31, 2007

Happy 2008!

Hope that your New Year’s Eve party is filled with homemade pizza, homemade Chex Mix, fresh squeezed lemonade spiked with vodka and left over birthday cake. Oh, and games too. And maybe a couple movies.

See ya next year! (Lame, I know. But, I’m hanging out with kids who have crowns on their heads and blankets draped over their shoulders. They are running through the house shouting “I am the King!” I’m feeling lame, okay?)

Honey, you aren’t as lame as me I spent New Years Eve on my own watching old CSI re-runs while my 4 yr old was sleeping and neighbours partied. I didn’t even get an invite!

Sounds fabulous. We passed the night away pigging out on junk food, watching TV and playing Mexican Train. A vicious game I must say, well as vicious as domino’s can get anyway!

Sounds like a great New Year to me! Julia was incredibly disappointed with New Year’s. She stayed up to watch the ball drop and we toasted the New Year with a fancy glass of sparkling grape juice. Then she says, “This is New Year’s?” She wanted to know if anyone would be coming down the chimney. Then she said, “Well, what do we do now?”

New Year’s. It’s just not Christmas.

I NEED a crown! My New Year’s Eve was of equal lameness, with one small but notable exception, the huge awesome fireworks that somehow found their way to my backyard!

Happy 2008 to you and yours!

Awww, sounds like fun! We just went to some friends’ house, pigged out on meatballs, smokies, prawns, hot wings, Bacardi and coke, and goldschlager shots. It’s our usual tradition, with the same old people and same old stuff, but it’s fun. The kids went apeshit with fireworks, and the most exciting thing that happened was one of the mortars didn’t come out of it’s launcher cone thingy and blew up in the yard…I thought my car was going sky high! Oh, we also played Yahtzee, Apples to Apples, and watched Family Guy episodes…woooohoooo, we are party aminals! Either that or we’re gettin’ old…

P.S. I hung out with my kids too…eating pigs in a blanket, english muffin pizzas and watching High School Musical 2. So, now who’s lame?! :D

    Baseballmom,

Fireworks scare the shit out of me. Last fourth of July my husband and brother and dad were all shooting bottlerockets towards the backyard where the kids and women were playing. Bastards. I now limit the fireworks to once a year. (I’ve always limited them, but now i have good reason!)

Sounds like you had a blast even if you did almost lose the car!

That doesn’t sound lame. I can’t wait for my kids to get a little older so I can plan New Years parties with them. This year I went to bed at 10:00. I did have a glass (or 2) of wine with dinner though (woo hoo. does it matter that that’s the norm? :-p )
