Is this MY blog? Am I the one responsible for updating it? Oh! Silly me. It slipped my mind. I’ve been so busy! Doing THINGS! All kinds of different THINGS!
Things like baking brownies and painting them:

Yum.
Things like signing Cindy-Lu up for tumbling:

The leotard. You should see her squishy little butt in this thing.
Things like CLEANING this room (don’t tell my husband I posted this picture on the internet. I promise it is not DIRTY, it is just messy because SOMEONE, and I won’t say who cough*Cindy-Lu*cough, takes every god damn toy she owns out of its special place before bed EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT.):

Fuckin’ Santa Clause.
I’ve been doing other things, too! I just don’t normally carry my camera with me to the grocery store, the pre-school, the Spanish class, the dining room table for school, and all that other boring shit I seem to do every day that sucks my writing juices dry.
There was ONE thing that I really should have gotten a picture of but was to lazy to go get my camera. Last weekend Bring It On (cheerleading movies) was playing all weekend and I MIGHT have watched just a leetle bit of it or, you know, all three of them but probably not! I mean, CERTAINLY NOT! I am an adult and I do not watch those silly shows. Ahem.
Cindy-Lu apparently loves that movie. She calls it “my game.” As in “Can I play my game now?” Why is it a game? Because when the bitches start cheering she GETS UP ON THE COFFEE TABLE and dances along with them. She is THREE and she is already dancing on tables. I have tried to get her to dance on the floor (because thats where we keep the stripper pole!) but she is just not having it. Such a little slut.
Another thing I have been doing but did not document with film (of the digital variety, anyway) is SEARCH and SEARCH and SEARCH SOME MORE for a good vacation spot for my family. We were planning on doing Disney (Orlando) with Cleatus’s cousin and her family, but they aren’t going to be able to make it SO we are now only 90% sure that is where we are going. That other 10% of us thinks we should go somewhere else BUT WE DON’T KNOW WHERE. Your mission today is to tell me, either in the comments or via email (karlyATwipingupsnot.com), where your most favorite vacation spot is. It can be a big tourist place or a little hideaway that I would never find on my own. Keep in mind that we are hoping to go in May, so we would prefer somewhere south. Also there will be an 8 year old and a 3 year old attending…unless you are willing to babysit while Cleatus and I go on our own.
You see how I do that? I butter you up with cute pictures of my children and then I boss you around. Now HOP TO IT. May is just around the corner, you know!

Disney World is my most favorite place in the world. We go there every year with trips to Myrtle Beach in between. My other favrite place if to get a cabin (you can get super cheap deals) in the Blue Ridge or Smoky Mountains. There’s a ton of stuff to do there, between beautiful surroundings and outdoor stuff, muxed in with all the cheesy, fun, tourist-y stuff.

I wish I had some fabulous recommendatons for you, but sadly, no. I’ll be checking back to see what people suggest though. The family and I could really use a vacation! Good luck.
And *because that’s where we keep the stripper pole* Hahahaha!!

Love that picture of Cindy-Lu.
And I didn’t stay up late watching those movies either. And I definitely don’t have a little crush on that boy in the first one.
What about San Antonio? Sea World? Historical crap like the Alamo for homeschooling?

Try Chincoteague Island off of Virgina. It’s a quiet little place, nothing like Disney, but they have wild horses and great beach. You can rent bikes and go on these great bike paths. The place is pretty quiet at night though so if you’re looking for a happening adult spot this is not it.

That room of Cindy-Lu’s looks like Julia’s playroom. And our dining room. And the living room. And her bedroom. What is it with little kids? Why do they have to play with EVERYTHING all at once? Ugh!
As for a vacation spot, I’m not much help. I don’t go anywhere.

New Orleans! Its the best place to visit, yes even with kids! We’ve been taking our son for year. Just don’t take a stroll down Bourbon St. unless you want to explain a few things like “mom why is that man wearing a dress” or ” whats a live sex show”.
But there is a lot for families to do and May is a great time weather wise…go after JF, the rates and crowds will be down. The Audubon Zoo and Aquarium are awesome. There is a childrens museum and so much good food! Shopping! IMAX! Swamp tour! Carriage ride through the French Quarter. The French Quarter is safe, clean and was not affected (much) by Katrina….(no flooding).

We’re going on a Carnival Cruise to Nassau, Bahamas/St.Thomas/St. Martaan. The price was great (considering all you can eat food is included) AND every day kiddie camp is included!!! I can give you my Carnival planner guys number if you like.

We’ve been to New York, San Francisco, St. Augustine, the mountains of Tennessee and North Georgia and honestly? My favorite place as been the secluded cabins in North Georgia. The cabins usually come with a cool game room, flat screen TVs, fireplaces and game systems. Plenty of time for snuggling, watching movies, playing board games and swinging in a hammock on the porch while enjoying the mountains or bubbling streams. And no, I didn’t copy and paste that from the Mountain Cabin Getaway website!! It’s just good fun there. Of course, I’d love to see you come to Disney for obvious reasons but for real fun? Cabin.

I know this great little cabin just outside of Gatlinburg. Beautiful cabin, very secluded, FANTASTIC view. I have pictures I could send you if you wanna see.
Now that we’ve taken a vacation to the mountains, we’re opting to go there instead of Disney ourselves.

Hey, I dance on tables, and I’m a nice girl! Wuz wrong wid dancing on tables??
For a vacation, Trinidad is really nice, which is why we live here. We feel that life should be a permanent vacation, with sprinklings of school and work. Only problem with May is that we spend half our lives fighting bush fires, and we have no water. I am sure that hotels and resorts don’t have these problems, though! And we could meet up on the beach!

oooh, I agree with a lot of the previous comments. Cabins in the mountains are the way to go. We have been to Gatlinburg, Tn and also to Helen, Ga. Both wonderful places for kids. And of course since we live here in florida we are at disney all the time. Get in touch with me if you have any questions about the disney resorts!

Table-dancing is a skill most of us don’t acquire until it’s almost too late to be hot (or maybe that was just me?) - I say good for Cindy-Lu for getting it figured out now.
As for vacation spots in the south in May. . .I second San Antonio. Aw, hell, I don’t really know, I never go on vacation.

Eeek! Well, I’m sorry, but I can’t obey your command, because I wouldn’t have the slightest clue where to send a family with young kids in tow. Besides, the only vacation spots I like are abroad, and tickets these days are somewhat expensive. Not to mention the Euro is much higher. So, sorry! But I hope you all have a lovely vacation! And we need pictures when you’re done, btw. Lots of nice pictures.

Nothing better than little girl butt in a leotard LOL.
Cindy-Lu’s room look suspiciously like the Terrorists Room….reminding me that I should probably add that to the things to do list for today.

Shit fire and grits, that is a messy room! My room looked like that until 2 weeks ago when I finally cleaned it. That little leotard is too cute! Personally, IO keep my stripper pole in the bedroom. That way the neighbors can’t watch.
I would head to Disneyland for vacation. Its expensive, but it’s totally worth it.

My Princess was a pole dancer at her first school dance. At a Catholic School. Lovely. Oh, and I found myself strangely drawn to the damn Bring it On movie marathon as well…although if you tell anyone else I will totally deny it.
As for vacation, I vote for Aruba. Just came back from 6.5 weeks there. Supposed to go for 3 and refused to leave. My 5 and 2 year old LOVED the beach and our pool. You’re guaranteed great weather…it is 85ish degrees and sunny with a constant breeze every day of the year. You can experience a different culture, although they still have McDonalds, Wendy’s and Pizza Hut.
Of course, we have a house there, so it makes it easier. Email me if you want more info. I know of houses that rent for much less than the typical hotel rates.
