Sell Out

The Big Announcement. It’s Huge, People. Huge.

July 5, 2009

Oh, hai.

It appears that I have a bit of the verbal constipation, but don’t worry. I’m forcing these words out JUST FOR YOU.

So, first off, I should probably make the big announcement. No, I’m not pregnant or getting a divorce and I didn’t save the whales. This is even bigger. This is, in fact, HUGE.

I bought an iPhone.

Whew. It feels good to get that out there. I mean, sure, waving it around in everyone’s face has been fun, but it just didn’t feel official until I announced it here.

I won’t even tell you everything I’ve had to go through to make this happen (hint: my knees have bruises) or tell you how Cleatus feels about 1. the cost of the phone (hint: Cleatus + frowny face = how he feels) or 2. the cost of the plan (hint: I didn’t actually tell him that part, because then the frowny face would turn into an angry face) or the fact that while he still has Verizon, I now have AT&T (hint: irritated. Very irritated.), so yes. Let’s just skip talking about all of that.

Excuse me for a moment, I need to go pet my iPhone, she gets lonely when I leave her all alone in my dark and dreary purse.

I’m back, but I can’t just sit here and blog all day. I have an iPhone to make sweet love to. So, I leave you with homework.

First, I need you all to go enter my contest to win a Baby Signs book and $50 gift card to Babies “R” Us. Even if you don’t have a baby, it’d make a great baby shower gift, so GO ENTER.

Second, I need you to look over there by your little scroll-y bar thing. You know, to the right. Towards the top of your page there is an orange tab that says “Suggestions.” Sweet, right? Click it and you can leave me suggestions for things to blog about, because, let’s face it, you need more Wiping Up Snot in your life.

Third, what iPhone apps can I not live without? (You see that? See how I brought it back around to the iPhone? I do that in real life too. It’s very charming. People love it.)

Assignments due immediately. Chop chop.

oooh, I am so jealous. I have an i-touch so I know what I am missing out on (the phone part and tons more apps!) but I do love my i-touch and I wave it around in public so it looks like an i-phone. I’m such a poser.
I didn’t think I’d really use audio-books but I listen to the books when I’m cooking and I’m really glad I have a few to choose from. I also have a couple of episodes of House to watch. As for game apps, I also love Sudoku, Blocked,Peggle and Bejeweled2

So jealous! But excited for you. No way we can rationalize it…..yet. But when my husband gets the promotion he so deserves, I’ll be heading to the apple store.
Make notes so you can help me when I get mine ‘k?

Welcome to iphone bliss. My ‘I hate apples and all things related’ hubby just bought himself one for his birthday, but of course he had to get the newest one so he could be better than me. I figure with all the costs of using the phone I just download free apps, well that and because I am a tight arse. I keep adding kid apps just so I can get them to quit bugging me in emergencies and it is great. So great my 7 year old has decided to save his pocket money to get an iphone and not a ds! At his current rate of savings he should get it when he is 32. His favourite is the light saber, gir-child loves a freaky random fairy app. Me, I get by with sudoku and free puzzle apps.

I don’t have an I phone so I can’t help with apps. I’ve heard there is one that makes the phone continuously vibrate though. Sounds like fun.

Hubby and I both just got our first iphones, too… sigh. Heaven. It’s funny because neither of us actually uses it much for phone calls, LOL, but we use the heck out of the apps.

My faves so far (mostly free) are:
    Peggle
    Labryinth LE
    Scramble
    Yelp
    Save Benjis
    Weatherbug
    BargainBin
    Koi Pond

No amount of ‘kneeling’ will convince Dorkfish that a smart phone is worth the money. (Believe it or not, he’s that cheap.)

But I really, really, really want one though…so maybe I’ll give it a shot. Hmmmmm

Me + NO iphone = JEALOUS

We have the whole Verizon/AT&T issue here. My husband is well aware, unfortunately. No amount of knee bruising is going to get me one *sigh*

Enjoy. I’ll have to live vicariously through you.

    1. Congrats

Wow you must have been shopping with Marinka husband because his iphone gave him a hand job – so he says well she says he says…

My 12 year old brother got one for his birthday….No no the $300 “s” one or what not but the $100 one and has to pay his own unlimited text plan – mom forks the bill for the monthly service.

Me? I will stick with my Sprint as I am already addicting to online enough, I surely don’t need Apple’s help

    ENJOY!
You can play beer pong on it – well I have heard

Looks like you and I spent the weekend in the exact same way, with the making of the sweet, sweet iPhone love. As for us, we both got them at the exact same time. So we no longer speak at all. Sometimes we send text messages to one another (new to us because we were always on a plan with our teenager who used all the texting for himself), usually to ask how to do something important with our iPhones. It’s nice when no words are necessary in a relationship. I think the iPhones are just what we needed to spice things up after 13 years!

Don’t get the Kindle for iPhone! Stanza is WAY better. So many free books available even! So awesome!

Stick Wars is a great game. AccuWeather is awesome, TwitterFon and Remote. There are so many other random ones that are great fun.

Playing with the free apps is one of the best thing to do when you are bored!

it’s so weird how I used to love you and now have to hate you, due to that one sentence: I bought an iPhone.

I love my iPhone…I could NOT get the new one because my contract isn’t up yet. But, I still would marry my 3G if it were legal. Well, and if it could cook because I sure can’t.

I just got my 1st iPhone a couple of weeks ago. I’m obsessed with it. I know how you feel.

As far as apps, I’d say if you don’t have iFart yet, get it. It’s painfully immature and freaking hilarious. Seriously.

Aha! Now you can blog from your iPhone! I used to blog with my blackberry, while standing in line at the bank, at the grocery, in waiting rooms. And you can take pictures and blog them too!

Hah! I’m reading this from my Iphone, right now. Are you completely at a loss as to how you ever survived without it? As for apps I can’t live without… Facebook, Tweetdeck, Whrrl, Drync, Lightsaber (I say it’s for the kids but everyone knows the truth), Ms. Pacman, Evernote. There are so many good ones! Have fun!

I’ve had my iPhone since the beginning, when they were so expensive that no one in their right mind should have been buying one, but I wasn’t in my right mind and still bought one. I can tell you this much… I would still pay that much for the iPhone, I love it that much!
I just bought hubby one today. Hubby who originally said “who the hell needs a phone that does all that crap?” Hubby, who for the past couple of months has been stealing my iPhone to play with the apps he installed on it.
    You will love it!

Okay, I’m just catching up on your blog now, but you really need Ranch Rush. It’s so addictive that my husband and I both downloaded it AND we bought it for the PC as well. :) And until tomorrow it’s only 99 cents.
