When You’re 2 Everything Is Funny

October 14, 2007

Cindy-Lu’s cousin spent the night with us the other night and they spent the whole evening giggling and being silly.

Looks Fun! from Karly on Vimeo.

I apologize for the crappy quality, but I took this on my digital camera.

I have a new post up GNMParents. Check it out. I also have a review up about Dawn Simple Pleasures dishwashing liquid. It actually makes washing dishes somewhat enjoyable.

For My Mama

September 8, 2007

Guess what came in the mail yesterday! A mac! A really pretty shiny mac! Don’t tell Cleatus, but I totally gave it a blow job last night. I love it. And it loves me. And we are running away together.

In honor of THE MAC I am posting a video that I made with iMovie (the main reason I wanted THE MAC) (oh, and if you’re curious, THE MAC will always be referred to in caps because it is JUST THAT COOL). Be forewarned that it is a bit long and very boring. I’m mostly posting it for family, but if y’all wanna see my kids playing in the ocean then be sure to check it out!

And keep in mind that this is the first video I’ve made with iMovie (which is way more confusing than I expected) so, um, its not very good. Fuck off.

Yippee Yahoo! Wiiiiiii!

June 13, 2007

We finally got our Wii today. And to explain to you how very excited I was to finally find a store that had one in stock let me share this little story with you.

I called Wal-Mart at 9am and asked if they had any in stock. 9am people. I had just gotten out of bed. The kids were eating cereal, neither were dressed or bathed. I was in pajamas and hadn’t even brushed my teeth or showered yet. The guy said they still had a few in stock, but of course they couldn’t hold any for me.

I jumped up and brushed my teeth and briefly considered going to Wal-Mart without showering, and just the fact that I was CONSIDERING this should tell you how very badly I wanted to get a Wii. I do not leave the house EVER without taking a shower first. I ultimately decided that the Wii could wait for me to shower and if they sold out while I was soaping up then it just wasn’t meant to be.

They had a few in stock when I got there (HALLELUJAH!) and we all made it home safe and sound with our new family member.

Here is a fun video of Eeyore playing boxing. You may think I was being all fun and creative by adding background music, but honestly, that music is a necessity. I didn’t want the internet to hear me SHRIEKING at him to BACK THE FUCK UP FROM THE TV (I didn’t say fuck out loud, but oh boy was I saying it in my head). So, every now and again in the movie you’ll see his big blue eyes look at me all startled and frightened. That is when I was playing the role of mean mommy who loves her TV more than her rambunctious son.  I couldn’t help it. We have bad luck with TVs.

The Long Awaited Video

February 9, 2007

I finally stopped being a horrible mother and filmed my pretty little boy. He’s so stinking cute and he’s getting so freakin’ big and I just can’t believe he’s already six. SIX, people!

I was 18 when I had him. When he was 5 days old Cleatus went back to work. I will never forget him walking out that door and leaving me sitting on the couch in our crappy little apartment holding Eeyore in my arms. I had no idea what to do when that door closed behind him. I was alone with the baby for the first time. Alone. And not quite sure what to do. Should I just sit and hold him? Should I lay him down? What if I had to pee? What if I got hungry? What if he cried? What if he choked? What if…well…most of you reading this are either a mommy or daddy so you know that the "what ifs" go on forever. And, you’ll be happy to know that we were perfectly fine that first day. We watched TV together and played on the internet together and he slept long naps and it was a good day.

And, for the most part, its been good ever since. He’s such a good boy and I dunno why I’m gettin’ all mushy thinking about him. He was just running around the living room jumping on the couch and throwing Cindy-Lu’s baby dolls while doing karate moves. But, now he’s in bed, so I’ll forget all the rambunctiousness (holy crap, thats an actual word. No red squiggly line under it!) and be mushy and remember my big headed baby boy who I once had to actually CUT a shirt off of him because his head was so freakin’ big. I love that little guy. And, here is a video of him being a rock star and I know the song may not be appropriate for a little kid, but its a good song and he wants to be a rock star, so there.

Ok, so Cindy-Lu doesn’t always stutter. She’s just excited.

And ignore the white sheet hanging in the living room doorway. Our entryway doesn’t have heat and it is fuh-reaking cold out there.
